A successful workshop was held in Athens, Greece. for the project «Novel methodologies for the assessment of risk of ground displacement» (MARGroDi), on July 13 at the ceremony hall of Harokopio University. About 100 scientists were invited and about 20 attended. Major Greek public agencies such as OASP (www.oasp.gr), IGME (www.igme.gr) and NOA (www.noa.gr) were represented in the workshop. The workshop schedule is given in table 1 below. The workshop was followed by very active discussion regarding the project achievements and the future applications of the project results.

7th Panhellenic Conference on Geotechnical Engineering

Dynamic participation of Stamatopoulos & Association L.t.d at the 7th Panhellenic Conference on Geotechnical Engineering  (5-7 November 2014)

The MSc Civil Engineer   Lydia Balla presented four papers with titles:
1) “Displacement of slopes in the case of earthquake-induced loss of strength” (Μετακίνηση πρανών στην περίπτωση που ο σεισμός προκαλεί στατική αστάθεια)
2) “Prediction of seismic displacement of landslides with saturated sand using the multi-block and simplified constitutive equation” (πρόβλεψη της σεισμικής μετακίνησης ολισθήσεων σε κορεσμένη άμμο με την σπονδυλωτή προσομοίωση και απλοποιημένη καταστατική σχέση)
3) “Prediction of sand behavior along the sliding surface using constitutive equation” (καταστατική σχέση που προβλέπει την συμπεριφορά Άμμων σε επιφάνειες ολίσθησης)
4) “Use of displacement space measurements in geotechnical engineering: application at Κerasia slide” (Χρήση μετρήσεων μετακινήσεων απο το διάστημα στη γεωτεχνική μηχανική: εφαρμογή στην ολίσθηση της κερασιάς)
MSc Civil Engineer Petros Sidiropoulos presented:
1) “Effect of yield acceleration on sliding-block seismic displacement” (Η επίδραση της κρίσιμης επιτάχυνσης στην σεισμική μετακίνηση πρανών)
2) “Seismic move to slip surfaces by saturated sand with write-downs of resistance”
